Frist Friday: In a Sentimental Mood
Frank Rembert may have his Frist Membership revoked for arranging for 17 trombonists to play in the highly resonant Frist Center for the Visual Arts lobby tonight. We tried our best not to be too loud but it was impossible.
Luckily Lynn Lewis and her group Quintessentially Jazz provided a break in the wall of sound between the two sets of Bone Therapy. Lynn sang some excellent jazz standards as well as allowing an Osteoblast performance of Stardust with bass and drums and my rendition of In a Sentimental Mood.
We were happy to have John Fontaine join us for the first time tonight. Players also included Tim, Wes, Eric, Paula, Lynn, Don M, Don O, Wendell, Peter, Frank, Allen, Don, Cork, JJ and Rob.
